Hauled yesterday after a fun 1-1/2 trip with 2-4 seas in very short periods just forward of the beam. Can you say roll, pitch and yaw? 15-20kt winds with gusts to 25+, and temp's here on Long Island north shore in the upper 20's F. Unfortunately the Atomic 4 was only running on 3 cylinders which made it..."clenching" while transiting Mount Sinai Harbor's inlet into the wind and waves lol. Boy did that fishing pier look scarier and closer than normal! 5nm at 3.3 kts...not fun. But she did it!All's well that ends well I always say!! Love this boat!
Now with the off season I have to:
1-Find out why 60psi compression on cylinder # 3, suspect stuck valve as others are well within spec.
2-Exhaust Leak on the Exhaust Hot-section, replace.
3-Why can't I get above 2K RPM? I'd say #1 has the most to do with it, but the original "Exhaust Hot-section" may be blocked as well.
4-Replacing the Stuffing box with the PSS
5-Mast is stepped so....
5a-New Mast Step is in order
5b-New 3db Antenna (none exists)
5c-New Masthead/Anchor/Spreader lights (All LED) Currently all not working.
5d-New Raymarine Wireless (Formally TackTick) installation.
5e-Replace broken Windex
5f-Bird-X to keep the Cormorants off!!
6-New Batteries: Sealed AGM
7-Blue Sea Sytems Single Switch w/Isolater
This is the short list, a host of other items as well!
I'll be reaching out to those of you who successfully sailed similar seas for help!
