P36 / Water Tank Questions
« Last post by latitude33 on July 07, 2024, 12:51:19 PM »
Hi. I have a 36-2 Hull#18. Was wondering if anyone had the forward and aft water tank capacity’s recorded?  I am looking at solving some balancing issues as the previous owner installed a large windless and stuffed 150’ of chain plus road in the anchor well which sits high. Needless to say I’m a little down in the bow when everything is full.

Thanks.

P34 / Re: Pearson 34 rudder shoe / bushing

I see there have been over 1300 views but no replies so here is what I learned (in case any of the 1300 viewers are lurking, wondering...;-) : the shoe does not have a bushing. The pin from the rudder sits right in the bore. There should be about 1/4" clearance of the rudder above and below the tab of the shoe. Cheers, Rol1964.

Engine and Drive Train / Re: new motor

I believe it's a scam myself, but likely the same as everyone else here, I didn't want to say anything in case it was for real and you missed it.   Again though, if it seems to good to be true, it "usually" is.

Sails and Canvas / Re: loose or fixed foot

Here it is from Precision Sails.  Changed the tack angle from 88.6 to 85.4.  It will rase the boom 7".  At 88.6 it was 1" off the dodger.  I know it will stretch over the years, the one I have now have to put dodger down to be able to sail.

Engine and Drive Train / Re: Oil pressure

Just to let you know, I found the oil leak.  Eight years ago I put on an remote oil filter on to better access the filter.  The oil lines to the remote was against the bulkhead and finally rubbed a hole in it.  Replaced hoses and all is good.  No new motor needed.

I am looking at a Bata 25 to put in the 323.  I have found a place in Indonesia.  Its name is   (Marine Power Engine).  He is selling the new motor for $3,200.00 shipping $435.00.  That is close to 7,000.00 less than the places in america.  Is this a scam or has any one purchased from this company?
