Fouled knotmeter
« on: July 04, 2011, 06:17:17 PM »
What can I use to keep my knot meter paddlewheel from constantly getting fouled? It's a pain to keep pulling it.
Thanks.

Beats me.  I just snorkel down every month of so (during summer) and clean it out.  Removing it doesn't always help, as weed will grow around the hull fitting...

I just used a product new to me - MDR Waterbase anti-fouling transducer paint on my new depth sounder. 2 coats with 4 hours between coats. I understand for the speed transducer you can push the paddlewheel pin out, paint all the parts, and re-assemble.
