Hi folks,
I just put My Cyn back in the water after her annual haul-out. My main mission was to take care of a lot of below-the-waterline items on my list.
My plan was to disassemble all of the tapered cone seacocks on the boat to clean, lap, and lubricate. It turns out that I was only able to do this on the seacock for the head discharge. The two tapered cone seacocks adjacent to the engine (cockpit scupper drains) were oriented in such a way that prevents the cones from being removed. See the attached photo.
I would appreciate any input the forum would like to share. I find it strange that a sailboat manufacturer would install the valves in a way that prevents disassembly.
Cheers,
Bill
