Icebox conversion
« on: August 03, 2025, 08:14:18 AM »
I'm considering installing this Isotherm kit:

Has anyone else installed a cooling system in their icebox?

I haven't yet, but I'm starting my Galley refit soon. I've narrowed it down to a coolblue system. A friend of mine has it on his Carver power boat and he swears by it.

The eutectic plate ones although more expensive have some really good reviews for power usage. Which is important when running off solar.

I don't know much about your link, or anyone that owns one.
Let us know of any issues you run into. The worst part will be running the lines into the ice box. The bulkhead behind it, may make it difficult. If you are taking your galley apart its probably also a good time, to remove the old crumbling foam and replace it all around your icebox. Will make your conversion more efficient.

Good Luck, take pics as you go, it will be helpful to all of us.
Work in Progress

Thanks for the info and suggestions.  I'll post updates here.

I also found an older thread that discusses this topic: https://www.pearson323.com/forum/index.php?topic=695.0
