Main sheet traveler
« on: June 08, 2025, 07:36:40 AM »
Hello all,
As of yesterday, I am the proud new owner of a 1987 P-27 hull #61.  I have a question regarding the Main sheet.  So my boat has the cabin top bridge traveler as all do, but it also has the main sheet (fiddle and cleat)? mounted to the cockpit bench right in front of the companionway. Is that a factory layout or something that was added by a previous owner?  I haven't seen any pictures of other p-27's with that setup. any comments or recommendations would be appreciated. I'll add a picture later today.
Thank you.

889 views and not a single reply??  I was hoping someone might have some insight on my question.  Isn't this a site where people try to help each other and share information?  Come on, doesn't anyone have a few seconds to respond to my question?

I don't have a 27, but I can't believe having a line in the doorway was factory put.  My 31-2 runs near the mast from the traveller and back again to the cockpit for control on the starboard side.  Look for a block or where one may have been just behind the mast.

Thank you, that's what I assumed as well, it doesn't look original so wondering why someone would have added it there. I'd prefer to change it back to the original factory setup. Just need to figure out what that is. I'd love for someone to send me a pic of where their main sheet terminates.
