i'm trying to buy some replacement lights for the cabin. i googled the stock number from the base of the bulbs i have and got the following supplier.
https://www.1000bulbs.com/product/1089/FL-100295.html?utm_source=SmartFeedGoogleBase&utm_medium=Shopping&utm_term=FL-100295&utm_content=R12+Reflector+Incandescent+Light+Bulbs&utm_campaign=SmartFeedGoogleBaseShopping&gclid=CjwKEAjw8oSoBRCss4qDrP3Y7yUSJACKumZ9vbYqm4y6nVTne5-LPTF9flso7rLUvoQHYocdKP_JRxoC5_Lw_wcB
it says that these are "Elevator Bulbs".
does this sound correct?

Those bulbs should work, but here's two things to consider:
- The wattage seems too high. I thought mine were 10W halogens.
- If you replace these with LEDs, the light output is close to the same as the 10W bulbs, but they only draw 1W. A nice side benefit is that you don't risk burning your fingers when you miss when reaching for the rocker switch.
There are "flood" and "spot" style LED bulbs. I used the flood style on the nav station and in the V-berth, and the spot style in the main cabin, and have been quite satisfied with them. The color is just slightly less "yellow" than the halogens, but still a "warm white". The flood even comes in red if you want red light at your nav station.
When selecting LEDs for marine use, it is important to select ones with a built-in "constant current" regulator, because the wide range of voltages normally present on a boat's 12v DC system can drastically reduce the lifetime of unregulated LEDs. Constant-current LEDs can be easily identified by the wide voltage range in their specs, eg: 10 - 30V. Unregulated ones will typically callout something like 12-15V. Don't buy these, even if they're lots cheaper! Better to cry once rather than cry often!

With all 7 LED Lamps on, your still drawing less than 1 of the older incandescent lamps!
LED's....it's a good thing!
On a side note, I got some of these to use as hidden accent lighting: Pure White LED Strip light (http://www.amazon.com/Triangle-Bulbs-White-Waterproof-Flexible/dp/B005EHHLD8)
I got it in 3 colors, white (in port), Red (underway), Blue (in the mood! lol)
I mounted them on the outboard face of the fids for the shelves in the salon AND vberth. They draw practically NOTHING!
Getting another roll each of the red and white for the Engine compartment and Cockpit lockers.
...and yes...Ed IS the man!!
"Sub" Ed (the other Ed)

Just got in the replacement elevator light led from marinebeam it sure is bright... no problem with it being dark in the cabin. It is alot brighter than a stock bulb I dont know how to tell the comparison. It's bright

I bought these this Spring, look just like the original incandescents, but a bit brighter. A nice warm light.
