Interior Structures / 323 Dog Steps
« Last post by 323Voyager on March 24, 2025, 10:19:30 PM »
As most of the 323 owners know, the companionway ladder is not the pet friendliest. I made prototype dog steps, that fold up into a box to store. they can't be used for a person as the salon roof would be too close, but a dog can fit between the roof and the steps.

I'll let you know if the dog will use them in about 2 weeks. But they fit and fold up for storage. So far a win. Below are some pics unfolded and secured to the ladder, and folded up.

PS forget what I said about epoxy, I just saw your picture. I don't think epoxy sticks to PTFE plastic, which is what that looks like.

It is plenty thick though, I would try welding it. It should hold just fine.

Hi DavidG sorry for the late reply, I haven't been very attentive at the forum. It was not too bad, but I'm doing a semi complete refit so all the cutting and fabricating is just a part of it.
I completely cut out the bow and settee tanks. Then built fiberglass reinforced wood cradles, and mounted the new plastic tanks in the cradles.Below are a few pics. If you have the original fiberglass tanks, You can use epoxy and some light weight fiberglass to repair your tank. However my tanks were really nasty inside, there was no way I was ever going to bath or drink water from them. SO I got all new tanks.

Also I decided to move the black tank to behind the head instead of under the V-Birth.

Labor of love Dave.

P37 / Pearson 37-2 portlights
« Last post by Jaime on March 17, 2025, 07:40:27 PM »
Hi everyone, I recently bought a 1989 Pearson 37-2 and need to replace all the port lights as they’re in bad shape. I’ve had no luck finding new ones so far. Does anyone know where I can find a new set or even used ones?

General Discussion / 1987 Pearson 39-2 Chainplate replacement
« Last post by Seabiscuit on March 08, 2025, 06:37:11 AM »
We snapped a main chain plate last Monday. Wondering if there is a technical drawing of that part to have new ones made. Also for the baby stray plate.  Very scary but man the deck is strong!  The only thing holding the rug from going overboard was the backing plate in the under side.

General Discussion / what is this tank for?
« Last post by dwalters on January 19, 2025, 09:59:40 AM »
We puchased a 1989 39-2 last year and there is a tank on the port side with access under the floor just forward of the galley.  Yhe tank doesn’t appear to be used for anything and seems to be disconnected.  Does anyone know what this tank is for?
Thank you,
Dean Walters

Standing & Running Rigging and Fitting/Tuning / Re: topping lift on the backstay ?
« Last post by DavidG on January 05, 2025, 11:04:40 AM »
I have this configuration on the backstay but very rarely if at all ever used, since a topping lift is also installed/normally used on my boat.  The attachment to the boom (either way) is only used during no mainsail hoisted, as it is there to keep the boom off of the deck and out of the way.  Depending on the wind conditions, it is unattached when the mainsail is raised and can support the boom.  I do not keep my boom vang installed unless I need it since it interferes with my salon hatch, and is only needed during sailing conditions.
