« on: September 07, 2012, 10:14:25 AM »
Has anyone used either of these outifts for sails? I emailed both for a quote on a replacement main and the prices are significantly lower than what the local sail makers quoted.

Deck Mounted Hardware / source for genoa track locking pins?
« on: August 13, 2012, 09:36:55 AM »
I can't seem to find a source of replacement locking pins for the hardware that slides on the genoa track. The boat was missing one when I purchased and would like to find a replacement. I've found what looks to be a genoa track stop assembly but its $70. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks.

Plumbing and Galley Systems / Wash down system
« on: June 11, 2012, 09:09:52 AM »
I was wondering if anyone has installed a salt water wash down system on their boat? I've got a washdown kit and was wondering where other folks had installed the components. I was thinking of using the head intake for inlet to pump. I don't believe I have enough room in the v berth for the pump. Any advice or information is appreciated. Thanks.

Cruising / First Cruise
« on: May 31, 2012, 03:02:30 PM »
The wife and I took our first cruise. We went from Sarah Creek on the York River to the East River in Mobjack Bay. We left Saturday morning and returned late Monday afternoon. We had great weather and good winds all weekend. Had a great time and are definitely hooked on cruising. Had so much fun we forgot to take any pictures but we did bring the camera.

Plumbing and Galley Systems / Propane locker
« on: April 18, 2012, 10:44:37 AM »
Our boat does not have the optional propane lockers. Can someone who does have this option tell me how it is implemented? Thinking of upgrading the galley to propane and would like to get an idea of what I'd need to do to install lockers. Any info appreciated. Thanks.

I got my survey back and the one item on the list that he indicated needed immediate attention was to pull the chainplates and inspect/rebed them. While we were doing the survey he said I could pull one at a time and use one of the halyzrds to hold tension while I did that. Has anyone else done this? What should I attach the halyard to? Any info appreciated, thanks.

My wife and I have just reached an agreement on the purchase of a 1979 323. We are new to sailing and looking forward to our first season coming up. We still have to have the survey completed and a sea trial. We will have lots of questions I am sure, I am glad to have found this site. Looking forward to contributing to the community and getting advice and guidance from the wealth of experience and knowledge that is available. This will be our first purchase of a boat this size any advice on the survey and seal trial is greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.
