Beautiful...   Every thing is flat around here.

Catalina.
When I was a kid, growing up in California, I went to boyscout summer camp on Catalina. I have such strong memories of snorkeling in the kelp beds, of the garibaldi, the incredible diversity and amount of sealife, and of hiking around in the hot desert sun. There were buffalo wandering around as well. not sure if they are still there.
Catalina really did feel like a magical place.
It must be just a terrific place to sail to.
Great stuff.
thanks for the post.

Catalina is still a really cool place. We sail out of San Pedro and the wind is very predictable. Tons of whales this time of the year. I lived in Newport Beach in the 60's.  It changed for the worse but Catalina is probably pretty close to what you remember. I will send more pictures this summer. Fair winds
