If I wanted to post a short video of sailing, how do I go about it.  Every time I try to do it the whole post goes away.  I even tried to shorten the video  but no help.

P40 / Pearson 40

I was looking and thinking about a Pearson 40 with a flush deck.  What are your thoughts about this vessel.  At the price I have seen I might just be dreaming.  It look's fast just sitting at the dock.

Standing & Running Rigging and Fitting/Tuning / Re: Boom Vang
« on: May 04, 2018, 10:35:35 AM »
The bottom of the Vang should be as low as possible on the mast and the Vang should be 30 to not more than 45 degrees of an angle.  I am not an expert, but that is what I understand where it should be.  Make a mark at the attachment point on the mast and use a degree wheel to to figure the angle and mark the boom.  Measure between the two marks and that should be the length.  NOTE (the angle should be made from the boom)

Standing & Running Rigging and Fitting/Tuning / Boom Vang
« on: May 01, 2018, 09:55:00 PM »
Just got a killer deal on a Boom Vang.  Want to know what type of attachment points should I get?  Like the boom should I just get a one bolt boom bail and what size?  Also the mast, should I get something that will move to both sides or a mast hound.  It is a soft Vang.  Don't want to spend a lot but would like something descent, is that possible?   I will be installing this myself.  Thank You for the input.   Dick

44 started 27 finished and we finished 18th.  Forth year for us and boats ranged from 24' to 40'.  Had a few obstacles this year large and small.           (If you click on the picture slide the bar to the right)
