It looks like a Beckson deck plate was installed inside the anchor locker where the anchor locker drain pipe was originally.
My guess is the PO needed access to the space below for some reason, or possibly the drain pipe or the anchor locker deck was compromised. Drop a 35# CQR, crunch!
A ventilation cowel would be ineffective in a anchor locker as indicated

Engine and Drive Train / Re: MD11 Fresh Water Pump Repair
« on: April 24, 2020, 12:32:50 PM »
The pump you are looking for is available.
They changed the configuration of the inlet and the outlet such that is not a direct fit to the existing plumbing setup.
They do supply a work-a-round to fit the MD-11C
I bought two of them last season

Here is the pump site and the pump
https://www.pumpvendor.com/Johnson_10-35157_series.html

The pump is threaded, they sell a threaded to hose adapter.
I have the part #"s on the boat, it may take a month to get to my boat.

Get the Polyline with the yacht braid , it floats, stretchy and a nice hand. Bonus, it's a nice saftey line for kids swimming in a current
Never look back again

Attaching a awning to the dodger to the back stay is a solution, we did it for 25+ yrs.
You will get wet in a rain, blocks the sun though

Yes, when needed, it is AMAZING. Not a drop in the cockpit ever! Completely dry.
We did not enclose the stern, not necessary on a mooring.
Be prepared to spend Ridiculous $$$ cash $$$, nevertheless worth it in the long run.
In 1983, a year after I bought the Rusty Pelican, my girlfriend (now wife and mother) and I spent 7 days of total rain in Martha's Vineyard cooped up down below because we had no canvas at all. We learned that lesson!
There is no such thing as too much canvas on  a 32' boat
I got pics, will post when I find them

My slider slides on a strip of plastic.
The plastic is glued to the door frame.

Here in MA especially in M.V. and Nantucket eelgrass is the perfect size to clog water intake, and tons of it everywhere!
My in hull strainer,  is inline and is about 6+ inches long.
It's a must have in NE

Thanks a Million. I am all set.
Lucky I bumped into a Raytheon engineer friend of mine (Ericson 38 ) who had the similar problem. The engine has a wire bundle and so does the instrument panel. They snap together. Some of the wires at that connection separated. Also the ground fuse was toast
Couple of hours and all set, haul 9/16.
I am now a semi expert on the Volvo MD11C wiring; sort of

Attached is a pic on my instrument panel on my P323.
If you have the same panel could you take a pic of the wiring, particularly the wires going to the Voltmeter gauge.
Thanks  BobG
