Ports & Hatches / Re: Lexan Cabin hatch crack
« on: May 23, 2020, 09:18:58 AM »
We had ours crack twice, probably from charter folks standing on it to deal with the mainsail.  For replacement contact Mark Plastic in Corona CA  92879.  Last I dealt with them they had no email, phone # 951 735 7705.  Measure what you have precisely--one size does not fir all.

Plumbing and Galley Systems / Replacing a water heater
« on: August 01, 2019, 01:09:34 PM »
Good day, folks.  We own an '87 P 28-2 and as far as we know the water heater is original.  The outside is starting to rust significantly and it's installed in such a way that the make/model are buried, tho it's cylindrical (might narrow the list?).  Here's the hook:  The thing measures 16" tall with a diameter of an honest 14".  The lazarette is an honest 13 3/4" so how'd the get the thing in there (just curious) and how do we get it out?  Will gratefully accept advise on this AND a decent replacement in the 5 gallon range.  The unit itself seems to work okay but looks gnarly--not so acceptable on a charter boat.

For Sale and Wanted / Bow light by Aqua Signal
« on: July 29, 2019, 03:55:37 PM »
Greetings from Minnesota.  Some charter folks managed to knock the cap off the bow light rail bracket on our 28-2.  It's an Aqua Signal Bi-color (part # 25100-70) and the rail mount is #25900-1, no longer made.  The light is functional since all that's missing is this cap, which keeps rain out and is otherwise cosmetic.  If someone has the part stuck in a bin, I'd like to take it off your hands rather than jury-rigging something.
