Engine and Drive Train / Re: V-Drive question
« on: December 13, 2020, 07:20:00 AM »
Mine has a 23HP 2-cylinder Volvo MD 11C Diesel Engine and 1.91:1 reduction gear in V-drive.

Do you know what the model number is on your volvo gear box? I removed and replaced when replacing the oil pan and the model number is worn. Drained the fluids on Walter V drive and gear box. Not sure what type of oil to put in...

Engine and Drive Train / Re: Volvo D1-30 remove/reinstall

Not being as pliable as I used to be, I removed the tank for easier access to the engine. It looked pretty good but I did clean out the inside. It turns out I need a new shaft, propeller and cutlass so after reading your posts and others on PSS, I ordered one!

Engine and Drive Train / Propeller size help for the P323
« on: November 22, 2020, 06:53:02 AM »
Upon hauling out my 323 to remove and replace the oil pan I discovered my propeller and shaft need replacing. I'm confused about the prop sizing. On the parts list Pearson has it as a 15x8 but mine seems to be a 17 x12 LH. Does anybody know if besides being left hand or right hand they were sized differently for diesel or gas engines? Any insight appreciated as time is of the essence!

Engine and Drive Train / Volvo D1-30 remove/reinstall

I'm in the process of taking out the Volvo D1-30 from my Pearson 323.  It's 11 years old, only about 260 hours on it, but the oil pan rusted out... Any tips besides belts, filters and hoses on what I should look for and or replace while I have it out?

New Member Introductions / New Owner P323 "Sea Fever"in NC
« on: July 25, 2020, 07:34:11 PM »
Hi all. I'm the new owner of Sea Fever, a 1981 323 that was previously owned by Captain Bri. A huge shout out is owed to him for the love and care he gave to this beauty and all his time and posts on this site. I look forward to keeping it in such great shape. I have sailed and crewed around City Island, NY as well as Lake Champlain VT and and bareboated a couple times in the BVI but always opb's. This is a life long dream! If you are in the Oriental area I'd love to chat or meet up some time and hear about any tips and tricks of the area or the boat.
