Did you end up removing the rudder? How did you get the rudder off the skeg shoe? I recently backed into some shallows and now my steering is very stiff. Everything looked good when I dived the boat so I'd like to drop the rudder to inspect the bushings and see if the rudder post is bent.

I have remove my traveler, shipped it to Garhauer Marine in CA, and am now awaiting the arival of my new traveler which should come at the beginning of next month. Thank you all for the input about Garhauer. I’ll let you know how my install goes after I receive the new one!

My shrouds and deck hardware were fitted with turnbuckle like fittings with a double end threaded stud in the center. It was the threaded stud that failed. The wire seemed ok, but the fittings at the ends were rusty so I swapped em’ out. One less thing to worry about!

Well, I had the port side upper and forward lower shrouds snap on me the first trip, the transmission cable fail on the second, and the jib rip on the third, but if I keep on fixing things at this rate the boat will be practically new by the end of next year!

      I am the proud new owner of Kropka, hull 82. I’ve had a bumpy start with her so far, but I’m loving every minute of it!
