The pump you are looking for is available.
They changed the configuration of the inlet and the outlet such that is not a direct fit to the existing plumbing setup.
They do supply a work-a-round to fit the MD-11C
I bought two of them last season

Here is the pump site and the pump
https://www.pumpvendor.com/Johnson_10-35157_series.html

The pump is threaded, they sell a threaded to hose adapter.
I have the part #"s on the boat, it may take a month to get to my boat.

Thank you for the reply..... the pump I am speaking about is for the water pump that is for the heat exchanger..... this pump is spun by the belt That goes around the fly wheel and the alternator.

Hi all,

A "noobie" question (chasing a 323, but don't have the boat yet).  What is this pump doing?  I thought the MD11C was raw water cooled.  This post has me confused.  I can't check against a real boat so please help clear up my confusion.

Thanks in advance.

Quote from Volvo:
Quote
COOLING SYSTEM
The engine is cooled by sea water. The cooling system has a sea water pump and a
water distribution housing with a thermostat,
The sea water pump has an impeller made of neoprene rubber, which is driven via a
rubber flange from the camshaft.
The thermostat in the water distribution housing regulates the water flow, so that
water is always flowing in the exhaust manifold and out in the exhaust elbow,
regardless of whether the engine is cold or hot.

The larger pump is referred to as the "Circulation Pump" and the smaller pump seems to be referred to by many names: seawater, raw water, or impeller pump. Attached is an image of the MD11C from Volvo Online, where I have highlighted what I believe to be the fresh water "Circulation Pump" on the front of the engine in yellow, and the "Seawater Pump" on the rear of the engine in blue.

Thanks Admin,

Excellent overview.  I have manuals but it is a lot to take in without physical reference.  Survey/haul scheduled for Monday, report back Wednesday, decision day a week from today (Friday - gulp).  Back to studying systems for the weekend.
