Hello from Skipper and Cindy!! RxSin!!
« on: December 27, 2019, 02:19:03 PM »
We are Skipper and Cindy, the new owners of Deep Ship.  She is a hull #353 and was born in March 1982.  This is our very first sailboat and we are so excited to have found such a great vessel to learn and experience sailing. We are also brand new to sailing and just completed our ASA 101 course in September, 2019

Her previous owner took very good care of her and there was very little cleaning to do. However there are plenty of improvements we would like to make and we look forward to everyone’s help on this issue through this forum.  Everyone on this platform seems to be interested in helping and we are thankful for all of you.

Our survey went really well and the major items that need to be repaired are a couple of stanchions on the port side have some moisture damage. Also the decking around the mast has some moisture and that will be a haul out Job that will probably be done next year sometime. We have already had our local repairman look at this for us well as our surveyor, and they both said that it was something that could wait a year.

Our dream, of course like most of you probably, is to someday get away from this landlocked region that were in now and become cruisers. We have a couple of kids that we need to get through high school before setting off.  And this plan gives us a good 5 to 6 years of learning and fine-tuning our sailing and boat maintenance and repair skills.

We have not been able to have our renaming ceremony yet, her new name will be RxSin.

We would especially love to make contact with any other Pearson owners in the DFW area.

Sincerely,
Skipper & Cindy
