Lewmar 30 two speed winches
« on: November 06, 2019, 08:05:40 AM »
I need to correct a slipping winch.  Boat is a 1980 Pearson 28-1.  I suspect a paul and likely a spring is broken, perhaps more than one.  The winches are Lewmar 30 two speed chrome.  Does anyone know if the parts are small pauls or large pauls?  Since this is my first time any advice would be very welcome.

Thanks!
Bob

The winch will work clockwise but not counterclockwise wise, port side.  The other winch, staroard, will work either way.  BTW, my spelling error, pawls, not pauls.

Thanks,

Bob

The Lewmar site lists the pawls & springs kit for the 30 as part No. 19700501:

The page for the pawls describes them as "small"

Thank you!

I looked many places and could not find what I needed.  This is very helpful.
