Frayed Knot & Hurricane Arthur splash down
« on: July 08, 2014, 02:24:56 PM »
We put her in the water June 27th, after a long haul out or it seamed to be.  Getting her ready for a 4th of  July weekend.  Here comes Arthur, if I leave by 12 on the 3rd I can get to Cricket Cove Marina in Little River,SC before the bad stuff gets here.  I cast off at 2 and now we don't get to the swing bridge in Little River till 6 and the winds are to high and they will not open the bridge only 1/2 mile from our marina.  I turn around and stay at a dock about a mile down the ICW (Doc Holiday's) they were so very nice they let us stay there for free because of the weather.   I thought the storm was going to be bad but it was not.  Wake up around 6AM and head to the our marina.  Leave at 9am to go to Bald Head Island, NC.  To make a long story short the pictures speak for the rest.  Wonderful sail there and back.   Had 2/3 foot sea's 10/15 knot winds what a wonderful weekend and not one thing went wrong...   (knock on wood)

Great story and Pictures. Do you have the info on the forward ports you replaced? I want to do mine and love the look of the ones you used to replace the original ports.

rbrtfeld,  I did not replace them the PO must have.  I am going this weekend I will take some good pictures.  They also have drains, screens, chain hangers and compression latches.

Thanks, I would like to see the pictures if you have time. I think they are 4X14 New Found Metals SS ports from what I could see in the picture. Here is the web site if anyone else is interested. Take care

After a close look at the ports this weekend they look like the Newfoundmetals
ones.  Here are the pictures   The first two show the chain that holds the port open and the two latches
