Libations Too:
I was a bit loose with my comment about 20 gallons....actually Libations has the 22 gallon aluminum tank.
Ed, you are definitely the only person I know who has an oxygen sensor in their boat engine. You also obviously know a lot more about engines that I do...thanks for sharing here on the forum.
Wandering_bill:
Good information here. I too have the Volvo diesel. I've always figured about a half gallon per hour for estimating purposes, good to know it could actually be a bit less. I have the 30 gallon tank and three blade fixed prop on Wanderer. That's a lot of motor time, considering how good these boats do sail!
Dave:
I have the MD11C and it varies between .35 and .4. I motor in the Gulf ICW and go with and against the current so my RPM is between 1600 and 1800. There are times I am at 1600 and making 7 knots with current and wind so I do not feel the need to increase the rpms. I also have a bigger 3 blade prop. We just finished a 5 day cruise covering 200 miles under power. We did some sailing also, but that is not always the best approach in the ditch of the ICW.
