Hurricane Sandy

(1/1)

Dolce_Vita:
I hope everyone in the mid-Atlantic and Atlantic NorthEast regions fared OK with Sandy.

Here on the Chesapeake, we largely dodged a bullet.  Dolce Vita came through fine.

Wind Whisper:
Well believe or not here in Michigan my Wind Whisper actually had some light damage from the wave and winds off Lake Michigan . . a broken bow line and a broken skene bow chock . .fortunately I had doubled tied  . . the Catalina 30 next to me broke lose and bent a couple life line stantions and rubbed gelcoat on the toe rail

Dolce_Vita:
I just saw an article in Practical Sailor by Alma's owner Gene Smith in NJ on how he saved his 323 from disaster on-the-hard by beefing up its blocking with a pair of homemade jackstands.  Way to go Gene!  Glad to hear you made it through OK!
