80" P-32 exhaust system

Good day,

This site as been a great discovery! After many years of racing , cruising and assisting with maintenance on OPB's,  I finally landed one of my own a couple of years ago; a 1980 Pearson 32 which "featured" a Universal M15/5411engine. As I learned from many that spent time on the P32 w/M15, she was under-powered and "motor sailing was usually the way to go. This coupled with the engine being straight "raw water" cooled, requiring a good amount of attention to maintenance. Lack of attention to this element of this motor lead to the demise of the engine and removal for scrap.

Fast forward, After two years finally scored a totally re manned M25 with all the upgrades, new control panel, motor mounts, and a custom built riser assembly for the exhaust. Upgraded exhaust hose from original production to Vetus hose and plastic waterlock muffler to a CenTek muffler. The original muffler was installed directly below the riser output of the old motor. The new muffler's location will be shifted several inches aft and to port off C/L.

Should I feel comfortable routing the new exhaust hose just as they did for the production build ? Thanks for any insight and forgive all of the details, its been quite a journey jut finding a replacement! Cheers

Boats still high and dry, small details to wrap engine (throttle-xmission cables, coolant recovery tank. Winters settled in, convinced myself a good idea to delay launch until March. Hull, rudder clean, prep and paint needs attention. I was was really looking forward to starting the engine for the first time! I stepped-up the exhaust hose diameter from 1 1/2" (M15, 11HP) to 2" (M25, 22 HP). The exhaust riser was build with a 2" output flange.

Concerned I may have mucked-up the exhaust "back-pressure"... ?
The hose run is approx. 15 feet, riser to transom.
