Hello I am new but have had my Ariel quite awhile.Always willing to learn and find new info.we sail on Long Island.

As a new member myself I'll send you a "hello" and "welcome".  With a little luck I'll be coming thru your neck of the woods in a few weeks on my way to Maine.  I'm told the LI sound is pretty calm in August and I should expect to motor.  Is that true?

I sail in Long Island Sound, out of Glen Cove, and normally August is pretty much a thin air month.  Normally I would say YES to your question but with all of the storms we have had every other day this year, the breeze has been up almost all the time now. This year is def not the norm.
