need a replacement mast P28-2
« on: May 03, 2018, 11:44:50 AM »
I need to replace the mast on my P85-2. It is an Isomat NG37 spar. I have found an older, 1970's p28, that may be scrapped soon. Does anyone know if that boat used the same mast as the newer P28-2?

The Pearson Sailing Assoc. website (http://cbpsa.org/forum/index.php?topic=6.0) has specs posted on virtually all the Pearson models.

Although it doesn't specifically give a mast height for the P28-2, it shows that the "I" dimension (forestay to deck) on the P28-2 is a foot longer than the P28.  So it looks like the P28 mast is going to be short for you.

Thank you. That's a good resource. It looks like my 28-2 is headed to the scrap heap though. If I can't find a matching used mast, it's just practical to resurrect her. That really is a shame. It was a one owner boat and always stayed in fresh water at Lake Norman,NC.
