Sound deadening
« on: February 09, 2017, 02:22:35 PM »
Repowering my boat. Yard is going to give me some time between yanking MD 11c and installing new lump to dress up engine compartment. Want to get rid of old sound deadening as it is crumbling. Yard suggests Soundown products, but kinda pricey. Any suggestions?

Have no experience with it but Jamestown Distributors sells a foam product with foil.

Description: Soundown Acoustic Absorption Foam is used in applications where barrier treatments are not required. This sound damping foam is excellent for hull linings and provides great absorption performance in occupied spaces. Available in various sizes and two thicknesses 1/2 and 1 inch.
